Description
Responsible for executing web application development projects from beginning to end, including collaborating with product management, gathering requirements, analyzing and conceptualization solutions, and designing, developing, testing, proto-typing and supporting single-page web applications and key system features. Work closely with architects/designers to design and implement cross-functional requirements and reusable system solutions. Lead design and code reviews. Research, evaluate and facilitate the adoption of new technologies to advance the SaaS platform and drive business. Provide guidance and direction (without direct supervisory authority) to approximately 3 developers, including setting standards, delegating and reviewing work, and mentoring. Lead the effort in troubleshooting cross-browser issues, client-side scripting and browser performance. Diagnose production issues and provide solutions. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in computer science, engineering (any), mathematics or related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus 3 years of experience in software development. A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in software development is accepted in lieu of a master’s degree plus 3 years.
- This must include 3 years of experience:
- Developing web services using REST architecture;
- Working with middleware frameworks such as J2EE/Spring or Hibernate;
- Using programming languages Java, JavaScript, and SQL;
- Using a version control system such as CVS, SVN, or GIT;
- Working with a relational database such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres;
- Using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or IntelliJ;
- Working with a web application server such as Apache Tomcat, IIS, Weblogic, or Websphere;
- With Agile methodologies;
- Applying analytical and problem solving skills to solve complex design and coding problems.
- Must have 2 years of experience:
- Developing web applications using XML, HTML, CSS and AJAX;
- Working with a User Interface (UI) framework such as JQuery or DOJO;
- Working on NoSQL databases like MongoDB;
- Working with teams located in geographically diverse areas;
- Any level of knowledge in and/or experience in:
- JavaScript framework like Ember;
- Grails.
