Plant Leader
Objective / Purpose of Job: Directs and manages all plant operations, overall quality of product manufactured, and other production-related activities at the Michigan facility. Supports technical functions of the business through engineering controls and machine repairs as needed.
Specific Duties: Maintain all records and documents required for producing quality components. Schedule all personnel to maintain work completion dates. Maintain any and all records of employee activities, both positive and negative. Provide ample training for all personnel to ensure that Crescent Manufacturing Company has up-to-date production equipment and procedures. Ensure that all production commitments are met. Schedule and monitor both building and equipment and ensure required maintenance is completed. Provide technical support as needed for the Ohio and Michigan facilities. Research and develop new methodologies for plant efficiency and new product development. Monitor and adjust to continually operate within budget. Interact with Quotation Team in Ohio to incorporate new production techniques to increase market share. Adhere to Crescent's Quality System.
Paperwork Requirements: Provide detailed reporting on the goals and objectives that have been met, as well as detailed reporting on why goals and objectives have not been met and what will be done to meet these goals and objectives. Initiate policies, procedures and departmental work instructions.
Performance Evaluations: Provide documentation to Personnel Director on all disciplinary issues. Provide Ownership detailed documentation and justification for capital expenditures, additional manpower that is required as well as wage and salary increases/decreases. Develop engineering drawings with onsite engineer for internal processing and customers. Quality Management System Understanding of Quality Policy and how position contributes to the fulfillment of Crescent's Quality Policy Understanding of applicable Corporate and Process Objectives and how position contributes to the fulfillment of these objectives Maintains a focus on customer requirements and their satisfaction Participates in Corrective and Preventive Actions, which includes notifying personnel of the need for any Corrective and/or Preventive Actions Follows and adheres to policies and procedures, which includes work instructions. Suggests Improvement Personal Growth.
Requirements: Continuous education through training, attending classes or seminars and attending trade shows/exhibits as requested by Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering. Reporting Relationships Per the organizational chart Authority. Make any decisions that are required to direct and manage all plant operations.
Evaluation and Advancement: Yearly evaluation will be completed.
Substitution and Cross-Training Requirements: N/A
Hiring Requirements: Engineering or technical background with a degree preferred. Previous work experience managing employees is desired. Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures, troubleshooting and problem resolution are required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft computer programs and internet/e-mail correspondence.
