Certified Medical Assistant
Hattiesburg Clinic, PA has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant to work in our Functional/Integrated Medicine Department. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Experience is preferred, but we will consider new graduates of accredited medical assistant programs with certification completed.
The position offers an exciting new opportunity for the right candidate to be involved in the opening of an
Integrative/Functional Medicine practice in Hattiesburg Clinic.
Hattiesburg Clinic opened the Department of Functional and Integrative Medicine. We recognize that nutrition,
the mind-body connection, and lifestyle play a foundational role in health and wellness. The right candidate will
be willing to do various office and patient oriented tasks, as well as have an interest in functional/integrative
medicine.
We are looking for a dynamic, professional, and compassionate individual who is passionate about helping patients
achieve wellness. You would provide support to patients who are already working with a medical doctor. Your
work would include nutritional counseling, formulating personalized dietary plans with the assistance of the physician,
stress reduction counseling, and providing patient education. Your role would also include communication with
patients to see how they are complying with dietary as well as supplement recommendations. We find that
patients that are followed with a team based approach have a higher likelihood of maintaining positive lifestyle
and dietary change. In addition to clinical work, the candidate may be given the opportunity to write educational
materials, as well as contribute to teaching classes and groups.
The candidate will have the opportunity to have one-on- one visits with patients under the direction of the physician.
The candidate must exhibit strong character, professionalism, and empathy as they will often be dealing with
patients that have complex chronic disease.
The ideal candidate:
-Strongly interested in functional and integrative medicine, clinical experience in functional medicine is preferred
but not required (training will be available for the selected candidate)
-Someone with knowledge in nutrition and welcomes the opportunity for further learning
-Able to work independently and take initiative, but comfortable with being supervised and receiving guidance
-someone able to shift responsibilities quickly as they arise in the clinic to improve the patient experience and
clinic work flow
-organized, professional, detail oriented, empathetic
-excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing
-committed to a healthy lifestyle
-ability to perform a variety of different clinical and office tasks from taking blood pressure, inputting patient data
into the medical record, answering and returning phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, collecting money, stocking inventory and explaining patient tests.
