The University of Mississippi Small Business Development Center is seeking a part-time Business Counselor for the Gulf Coast area. This is a professional position in which the incumbent provides counseling and advising to business clients with specific needs. Incumbent travels to conduct/present a variety of training seminars and may be required to perform occasional overnight travel. Work includes preparing reports and forms; researching client's needs; securing seminar locations and frequently exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Examples of work performed are: develop and prepare loan application packages; maintain records and files of clients; provide assistance to clients as it relates to areas of concern; identify needs and available resources; consult with a variety of outside agencies to assist clients with obtaining objectives; and perform similar or related duties as assigned or required. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, and a valid driver's license is required. Related education and related experience may be substituted on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
