The Minnesota Secretary of State's Office is seeking a talented full-stack developer to join our small team of programmers in the Central Projects Group. The core systems you will be work on are the main website CMS (Umbraco), Safe at Home program, Commissioners and Appointments, and Official Documents.

 

Job duties include:

  • Collaborate with developers/ programmers and stakeholders on conceptualizing and developing new or enchanted web applications
  • Create intuitive interfaces and interaction layers
  • Analysis, design, and development and testing in an agile/SCRUM environment
  • Design, run, and monitor software performance tests
  • Develop and maintain system documentation

This position is currently teleworking until the foreseeable future.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of technology experience as an Application Developer.

Experience must also include the following:

  • Experience in UI design and implementation using technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Experience working with C# and the .NET framework
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to work with clients and information systems staff to understand requirements and develop applications.

*A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, OR a related Bachelor's degree substitutes for two years, OR a related Associate's degree substitutes for one year.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience using software applications, such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Office Suite, Azure DevOps, and Github Enterprise
  • Experience integrating with the following technologies: REST, SOAP, WCF, GRPC, Web API
  • Experience with a responsive UI framework such as Bootstrap
  • Writing and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and disseminate application- related materials
