Omega Protein Shipyard (Moss Point, MS) Job Title: Project Manager Job Description: Project managers are responsible for the planning, management, co-ordination and financial control of a repair, refurbishment, maintenance and/ or conversion project from start to finish. Project managers ensure that the specified requirements are met, in safe manner, at or below budget and on a scheduled time frame. Responsibilities/Accountabilities include: - Performs daily project planning and execution of tasks (tools - DAPS from FM, Jobs Monthly, Force Report...) - Ensures the quick resolution of issues on his/her project that impacts productivity, cost, quality or safety, using collaboration if needed. - Records and communicates overall project costs and estimated time to complete (ETC) to include updating ETC forms monthly to all key stakeholders. - Manages subcontracted activities associated with his/her assigned projects to include resourcing of venders/contractors to complete project objectives. - Maintains and communicates to key stakeholders Project Schedule Adherence and any forecast risks that could materialize. - Develop and monitor adherence to project priorities (Milestones) for his/her project and communicate adherence to objectives. - Develop scope of work to include Project initial assessment, scheduling of resources, management of the resources that include labor hours, contractor/ material cost. - Status of current projects in Weekly Production Meeting 1. Cost Compliance 2. Schedule Adherence and risks 3. Quality of work 4. Safety compliance and/ or risks. - Compliance with all company policies and procedures - Work Closely with Shipyard Superintendent to assign staffing of Foremen and task associates. - Understand the End Users purpose for the Vessel or equipment and actively seek to improve customer satisfaction. - Build a knowledge base of customer/company needs and manage their integration into the project scope if they contribute to our companies Mission and Goals. - Order material and resources in a timely manner that meets monthly budget adherence and completes project on time. - Develop a Project Plan that minimizes or eliminates change orders. - Work closely with the GM, other Project Managers, the Shipyard Superintendent and Foremen to identify associates that both exceed job expectations and those that fall short. Minimum requirements: - Required: Minimum High School diploma or GED - 8 - 10 years experience supervision and scheduling preferred - Effective listening and communication skills including conflict resolution - Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data, develop, recommend and implement solutions Email resumes to: email@example.com Omega Protein offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, paid training and advancement opportunities.
