Speech Pathologist - Acute-Inpatient
SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently accepting applications for Speech Language Pathologist opportunities in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Rehab Therapies. Openings available to provide outpatient neuro services for adults. Upstate provides an extensive onboarding opportunity with training and mentoring as well as ongoing educational opportunities.
The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for direct patient care including comprehensive assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive disorders covering the spectrum of diagnoses including but not limited to stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway, and related disorders. Collaborate with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Attend designated clinics, rounds, enhanced education and conferences. Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional health care personnel. Participate in training for new staff. Serve as a clinical instructor for students. Facilitate new program development.
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of clinical fellowship year required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
