Job Description:
(Multiple positions available) Provide Mental Health services & treatment for children, adolescents &/or adults with mental health, autism &/or behavioral disorders. Provide assessment, treatment, progress monitoring, referral & consultation services to patients, family members & other persons in the patient network. Work with a multi-disciplinary service team.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform intake & orientation.
- Complete psychosocial assessment. Utilize other assessment tools as clinically necessary & appropriate.
- Identify the patient’s strengths, weaknesses & problem areas as part of the assessment & as reflected in the treatment plan.
- Schedule the patient for psychiatric evaluation, based on medical necessity.
- Develop treatment plans. Provide direct therapy &/or supervise support professionals who provide direct therapy.
- Review treatment plans.
- Determine evidence-based treatment interventions & resources to be utilized.
- Establish a therapeutic relationship conducive to healthy change for the patient & family.
- Educate the patient/family regarding the treatment.
- Identify patient treatment needs & arrange referral to appropriate ancillary & support services when appropriate.
- Participate in multi-agency treatment meetings.
- Discharge patient from service when treatment goals have been reached or other reasons specified in policies & procedures.
- Participate in scheduled Utilization Review.
- Prepare/maintain progress notes, reports & records.
- Comply with all federal, state, local & medical assistance policies & procedures.
- Follow OSHA, Universal Precautions & Infection Control Practice guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in psychology, social work, counseling, special education or mental health.
Must have at least 3 years of post-Master’s degree experience working in the child/adolescent mental health counseling field or in a CASSP system (for example, Children & Youth Services, Juvenile Justice, Mental Health System, Special Education, or Drug and Alcohol Program).
Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist license to work with children or adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.
Regular travel within Pittsburgh, PA metro area to meet with clients at home, schools or other facilities. No overnight trips or travel outside Pittsburgh metro region. No fixed itinerary.
40 hours/week. Overtime as needed. Work schedule is flexible to fit client schedules. Some evening or weekend hours may be required on a scheduled or unscheduled emergency basis.
