Reporting to the Comptroller and Chief Accounting Officer, the Associate Controller leads the operations of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Post-Award.  The Associate Controller will assume responsibility for providing the highest quality of seamless research finance support for faculty research efforts through leadership and financial administration of grants and contracts received by UMMC. This individual must bring the strategic capacity to envision and implement administrative, finance, and management systems that enhance research goals, provide first-class service, and keep pace with the thriving research enterprise that enjoys an esteemed reputation and ambitious plans for the future.

UMMC is a fast growing $1.7 billion organization and is Mississippi’s only academic medical center, providing a Level I Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, a children’s hospital, and solid organ transplantation services. This position requires a demonstrated breadth of knowledge in grant and contract regulations, accounting principles and practices, as well as finance and fund accounting systems. The incumbent will be a detail-oriented problem solver with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and have a passion and commitment to quality of service.
